Certificate for SP application

0
Hello! My client wants to use the SAML protocol to make a Single Sign-On (SSO) in my application (SP) using your system's (IdP) credentials. However, they requested the xml metadata file from my application containing the encrypted certificate to import into their system. My doubts are: 1. What is this certificate? 2. How can I generate it? 3. How do I generate the .xml metadata file for SP? Could you help me, please? Thank you in advance for your help. Regards,
